The Reconnecting Homeless Youth Act of 2008 authorized the Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs for the next five years. The Act increased the authorized amounts available for such programs. It creates the conditions, structures, and supports needed for runaway and homeless youth and placed a significant amount of emphasis on implementing the positive youth development approach to its programming.
